    Uniform Schengen Visa (USV)
The Uniform Schengen Visa (USV) is a short-term visa that permits travelers to visit and move freely within the Schengen Area, which includes 26 European countries. With this Schengen visa, individuals can stay in the Schengen zone for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. The Uniform Schengen Visa is commonly issued for purposes such as tourism, business, visiting family or friends, and attending conferences or short-term studies.

    Purpose:
The USV allows visitors to travel within the Schengen Area for purposes such as tourism, visiting family or friends, business meetings, or attending conferences and exhibitions.

    Validity:
The Uniform Schengen Visa must be used within 180 days from the date of issue, allowing a maximum stay of up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

    Extension Possibility:
This Schengen visa cannot generally be extended except in exceptional cases, such as humanitarian reasons or force majeure.

    Applicable Activities:
With a Uniform Schengen Visa, travelers can engage in tourism, visit family or friends, attend business trips, conferences, exhibitions, and participate in short-term studies or training. However, profit-making activities or long-term employment are not permitted

Essential Documentation for a Uniform Schengen Visa

To apply for a Uniform Schengen Visa, applicants must provide several key documents to ensure a smooth Visa application process. Here’s a list of the essential documentation required:

    • Visa Application Form:
A completed and signed visa application form. It must be filled out accurately and legibly.
    • Valid Passport:
A passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay in the Schengen Area with two blank pages. A clear copy of the passport’s bio-data page must be provided.
    • Passport-Sized Photos:
Two recent passport-sized photos that meet Schengen visa photo requirements, with a light background, taken within the last six months.
    • Travel Itinerary:
A detailed itinerary including flight bookings, dates of travel, and the list of European countries to visit.
    • Proof of Accommodation:
Hotel bookings or a letter of invitation from the host where you will stay in the Schengen Area.
    • Proof of Financial Means:
Evidence of sufficient funds to cover the stay in the Schengen Area, such as recent bank statements or a sponsorship letter.
    • Travel Insurance:
Proof of travel insurance with minimum coverage of €30,000 valid throughout the Schengen Area, covering emergencies, hospitalization, and repatriation.
    • Purpose of Travel:
      • Tourism: A detailed travel itinerary.
      • Business: Invitation letter from a Schengen company or conference confirmation.
      • Family Visit: Invitation letter from the host with details of the visit.
    • Proof of Civil Status:
Documents such as a marriage certificate, birth certificate, or other proof of civil status.
    • Proof of Return:
A confirmed return flight ticket or proof of onward travel that demonstrates you intend to leave the Schengen Area before your visa expires.

By ensuring that all these documents are complete and accurate, the Schengen visa application process will be more straightforward and efficient.
