Overview of Sibling KITAS

The Sibling KITAS is a Limited Stay Permit designed for the foreign brothers or sisters of a KITAS or KITAP holder in Indonesia. This visa allows siblings to legally reside in Bali or anywhere in Indonesia while being supported by their family member who holds a valid KITAS or KITAP.

It is the best solution for families who want to keep siblings together in Indonesia, ensuring stability, legal residency, and easier access to essential services during their stay.

Purpose

To allow siblings of KITAS/KITAP holders to legally reside in Indonesia.
To strengthen family unity and support for long-term residents.
To provide dependent status for brothers and sisters under sponsorship.

Validity

Available in 1-year and 2-year options.
Renewable for up to 5 consecutive years under the same sponsorship.
After 5 years, siblings may transition to a Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP) if eligible.

Extension Possibility

Renewable annually or biennially depending on the visa type.
After 5 years of continuous stay, a KITAP may be issued.
If the main sponsor’s KITAS/KITAP is revoked, the sibling’s KITAS also becomes invalid.

Applicable Activities

Sibling KITAS holders may:

Legally reside in Indonesia with their family.
Access healthcare, insurance, and community services.
Register for a Temporary Residence Card (SKTT) at the Civil Registry Office.

Essential Documentation for Sibling KITAS Application

Applicants typically need to prepare the following:

Valid Nationality Passport at least 6 (six) months.
Proof of living expenses of at least US$ 2,000 (two thousand United States Dollars) or equivalent.
Latest color photograph.
Curriculum Vitae.
Travel Itinerary.
Proof of guarantee from the Guarantor or statement of commitment of siblings.
Birth certificate of sibling that has been translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator, except it is written in English.
The Sibling’s valid limited stay visa, Limited Stay Permit/Permanent Stay Permit or Limited Stay Visa.

Visa Extension Information

The Sibling KITAS can be renewed for up to 5 years in total.
After 5 years, siblings may apply for a KITAP under dependent status.
The dependent status is always tied to the validity of the sponsor’s KITAS/KITAP.
