    Overview of the C1 Tourist Visa

    The Single Entry Tourist Visa (C1) is Indonesia’s official long-stay visa for tourism, designed for travelers who wish to enjoy Bali and the rest of Indonesia beyond the 30–60 days permitted under a Visa on Arrival (VOA).

    With this visa, you can stay in Indonesia for up to 180 days (6 months) on a single entry. Once you leave Indonesia, the visa will expire.

    ⚠️ Important: This visa is strictly for tourism. Employment or any form of paid activity in Indonesia is not allowed under the C1 Tourist Visa.

    Purpose

    The C1 Tourist Visa is designed to facilitate long-term tourism stays in Indonesia. It is ideal for:

    • Travelers who want to explore Bali and Indonesia at a relaxed pace 🌴
    • Digital nomads who wish to live in Indonesia legally for several months (without working for an Indonesian company)
    • Families and retirees looking to enjoy extended stays
    • Tourists who want an alternative to frequent visa runs

    Validity

    • Initial stay: Generally issued for 60 days.
    • Maximum stay: Up to 180 days with extensions.
    • Entry type: Single entry only (visa expires if you leave Indonesia).

    Extension Possibility

    • The C1 Tourist Visa can usually be extended every 60 days until the maximum 180-day limit is reached.
    • Extensions are done at a local Immigration Office or through a licensed visa agent in Indonesia.
    • Apply for your extension 7–10 days before your current stay period expires.

    ⚠️ Overstay penalty: IDR 1,000,000 per day. Serious overstays may result in deportation and blacklisting.

    🚫 Activities not permitted: Employment, freelance work for Indonesian companies, or income-generating activities.

    Essential Documentation​

    To apply for the C1 Tourist Visa, you must prepare the following:

    • Passport valid for at least 6 (six) months 
    • Personal bank statement with minimum amount USD $2000 or equivalent the last 3 months period (including name, date of period, and balance account).
    • A recent color photograph.

    💡 Some nationalities may be required to submit additional supporting documents depending on Indonesian immigration policy.

    Visa Extension Information

    • Number of extensions allowed: Usually up to 2 times
    • Duration per extension: 60 days
    • Maximum total stay: 180 days (6 months)
    • Extension process: Apply in person or through a visa agent in Bali/Indonesia

    Processing Time

    • Standard processing time: 5 working days once documents are submitted
    • Express service (with agent): 3–5 working days
    • Application period: Must be completed before arriving in Indonesia
    • Recommendation: Apply at least 2–3 weeks before your travel date to avoid delays
