Overview of Student KITAS E30

The Student KITAS (E30/E30A/E30B) is a Limited Stay Permit designed for foreign students who wish to pursue education in Indonesia. This long-term student visa allows international students to legally stay in Bali or anywhere in Indonesia for academic purposes.

The Student KITAS is available for different levels of study:

Non-Degree Student Visa (E30) – 1 or 2 years (exchange programs, short-term study, non-degree courses).
Student Visa (E30A) – 1, 2, or 4 years (long-term students in schools or universities).

Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral Visa (E30B) – 1, 2, or 4 years (for Bachelor, Master, and PhD programs).

Purpose

To allow foreign students to legally study and reside in Indonesia.
To provide access to Indonesian schools, universities, and academic programs.
To encourage international educational exchange and cultural understanding.

Validity

Non-Degree Student Visa (E30): 1 or 2 years.
Student Visa (E30A): 1, 2, or 4 years.
Undergraduate/Postgraduate/Doctoral Visa (E30B): 1, 2, or 4 years.

Extension Possibility

Renewable according to the length of study program.
Must remain under the sponsorship of the school or university.
Once studies are completed, the visa must be cancelled or converted before departure.

Applicable Activities

Student KITAS holders may:

Legally reside in Indonesia during their academic studies.
Attend classes, research, and training at their educational institution.
Open a local bank account and access student services.
Apply for SKTT (Temporary Residence Card) at the Civil Registry Office.

⚠️ Note: Student KITAS holders are not permitted to work or engage in paid activities in Indonesia.

Essential Documentation for Student KITAS Application

Applicants typically need to prepare the following:

Valid Nationality Passport at least 6 (six) months.
Proof of living expenses of at least US$ 2,000 (two thousand US Dollars) or equivalent.
Latest color photograph.
Curriculum Vitae.
Travel Itinerary.
Guarantee letter from a guarantor, which is an Indonesian citizen or the educational institution where foreigners carry out education.
Letter of acceptance from the educational institution in Indonesia that explains the length of time the foreigner will be enrolled in the educational institution.

💡 Additional documents may be required depending on nationality and Immigration regulations.

Visa Extension Information

Student KITAS can be extended depending on the study program duration.
Extensions are processed with Immigration and require updated sponsorship from the school/university.
Dependents (parents or guardians) may apply for a Family Dependent KITAS under the student’s sponsorship in some cases.

⚠️ Overstay Warning: Overstaying a KITAS leads to fines of IDR 1,000,000/day and may result in deportation or blacklisting.

Processing Time of Student KITAS

Offshore Application:

Standard: 10–15 working days
Express: 7–10 working days

Onshore Conversion (from Tourist Visa or other status):

Standard: 3–4 weeks
Passport remains with Immigration during processing
