Overview of the D1 Tourist Visa

The Single Entry Business Visa (C2) is Indonesia’s official long-stay business visa for foreigners who need to conduct non-employment business activities in Indonesia. It is designed for visitors who wish to attend meetings, negotiations, conferences, training, or business-related visits beyond the short limits of the Visa on Arrival (VOA).

With this visa, you can stay in Indonesia for up to 180 days (6 months) on a single entry. Once you exit the country, the visa automatically expires.

⚠️ Important: The C2 visa does not permit employment, freelance work, or　income-generating activities in Indonesia.

Purpose

The D1 Tourist Visa is intended to make travel to Indonesia easier for:

Frequent travelers who need to visit Indonesia multiple times in a year 🌏
Families or retirees who divide their time between Indonesia and other countries
Tourists who combine Bali with nearby countries like Singapore, Thailand, or Malaysia
Long-stay travelers who want to avoid repeated visa applications

Validity

Visa duration: Valid for up to 12 months from the date of issue.
Stay per entry: Each entry usually allows up to 60 days.
Entry type: Multiple entry (unlimited entries during the validity period).

Extension Possibility

The D1 visa cannot usually be extended beyond its maximum validity.
However, travelers may leave Indonesia and re-enter with the same visa as long as it is still valid.
If a longer uninterrupted stay is required, consider the C1 Single Entry Tourist Visa or other long-stay visas.

⚠️ Overstay penalty: IDR 1,000,000 per day. Overstays may result in deportation and blacklisting.

Essential Documentation

To apply for the D1 Tourist Visa, you must prepare the following:

Passport that is valid for at least 6 (six) months.
Proof of living expenses of at least US$ 2,000 (two thousand United States Dollars) or equivalent.
A recent color photograph.
Any of the following documents:
- Information, invitations, or correspondence from government agencies or private institutions that Explain the relationship with the Applicant. Or
- Statement letter from the spouse or parents explaining the family relationship with the applicant and the activities to be carried out in Indonesia, attached with a family card / similar document.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Travel Itinerary.

💡 Depending on nationality, Indonesian Immigration may request additional documents.

Visa Extension Information

Extensions: Generally not extendable, but multiple re-entries are allowed.
Maximum duration per stay: 60 days per entry.
Maximum overall validity: Up to 12 months from issue date.
To stay longer continuously, another visa type (such as C1 Tourist Visa) is required.

Application period: Must be completed before arriving in Indonesia
